Precarious as the scene looks, you don't need to worry, since everything is securely silver soldered in place. The brass base has a bit of ultra suede on the bottom to protect your surface. The entire item is colored with a sulfur solution and then waxed to create a permanent finish. This piece is a limited edition of 25. Each teapot is handmade; slight variations
