The pan is blackened and oiled with forging soot. It is recommended to remove the oil with hot water or steel wool before use, or to cook the oil on a campfire. The pan is made of 16 mm thick steel. It has a diameter of 23 cm, a height of 12 cm and a volume of 2,5 to 3 litres. It weighs 1,7 kg.
