Avignonesi, Vin Santo di Montepulciano, 1991 (375ml) Giuseppe Mascarello 2019 A Cabernet that drinks beautifullyAvignonesi's Vin Santo is among Italy's most sought after sweet wines, and it's made the hard way: white grapes dried for months, then years of aging in tiny sealed caratelli with the estate's century old "madre" yeast, with much of the liquid lost to evaporation. The output is tiny and intensely concentrated. This 1991 is from a private collection and now fully mature, amber gold and resolved.
