CVNE (Cune), Rioja Monopole Clasico Blanco Seco, 2021 NO WINE SEARCHER dark fruit characterHere's a story we love: in the early 2010s a customer wrote in praising the "old" style of CVNE's Monopole the oxidative, sherry touched white Rioja the house had stopped making in the 1970s. So the team tasted a 1970s bottle, agreed, and pulled Ezequiel Garca out of retirement (at 84) to help relaunch it alongside winemaker Mara Larrea. Monopole Clsico is the result: Viura from a 5 hectare Villalba de Rioja vineyard, aged eight months in old oak vats
